Best of the Area

Best of the Area is the Iowa City Press-Citizen's annual citizen vote on the best aspects of the greater Iowa City/Coralville area.

This year, we have expanded voting to more than 60 categories, ranging from restaurants and food to shopping and senior activities.

 

Best festival

Iowa City Jazz Festival

The Toyota-Scion of Iowa City Jazz Festival is the winner of the area's best festival award. The three-day festival brings a wide variety of national, regional and local jazz acts to downtown. It highlights traditional jazz acts as well as cutting edge bands. More than 25,000 patrons attend the event annually. The festival takes place the first weekend in July.
