Best of the Area is the Iowa City Press-Citizen's annual citizen vote on the best aspects of the greater Iowa City/Coralville area.

This year, we have expanded voting to more than 60 categories, ranging from restaurants and food to shopping and senior activities.

 

Best Indian Food

With a good stock of Indian restaurants in town, we decided to break out an Indian food category from the Asian category. Masala, a vegetarian and vegan Indian outlet, is our first-ever winner. The extensive menu offers a wide selection
of dishes ranging from traditional to modern recipes,
appealing to all tastes. Diners can request entrees made
vegan or vegetarian style, and lunchers can get a quick Indian meal thanks to the seven-day-a-week lunch buffet.
