Best of the Area is the Iowa City Press-Citizen's annual citizen vote on the best aspects of the greater Iowa City/Coralville area.

This year, we have expanded voting to more than 60 categories, ranging from restaurants and food to shopping and senior activities.

Since 1962, Pagliai's pizza has stuck by a simple rule: Do one thing and do it right. The venerable Iowa City landmark has been using the same pizza recipe since opening almost 50 years ago, and serves nothing but pizza, pop and beer. It's been voted Iowa City's favorite pizza joint for every year of our competition.
