Park Road, Iowa City
A good flood won’t keep a good park down. City Park, a fixture on the riverbank for as long as anyone can remember, was almost entirely underwater during the Flood of 2008, but has since risen from the mud to be the area’s main location for recreational and youth sports as well as playground fun. The park is also home to the Shakespeare Festival Stage, a modern re-creation of William Shakespeare's Elizabethan Globe Theater.
