Best of the Area

Best of the Area is the Iowa City Press-Citizen's annual citizen vote on the best aspects of the greater Iowa City/Coralville area.

This year, we have expanded voting to more than 60 categories, ranging from restaurants and food to shopping and senior activities.

 

Best women’s clothing store

Von Maur

The Von Maur family opened its first store 137 years ago in Davenport. The Iowa City location has been open 27 years in the Sycamore Mall. The classy environment, complete with live piano player, has proven successful time and again for the store, which also did well in the men’s clothing category.
